Summer Learning Days!!
As The Scrunch grows, we are looking for more and more ways to support homeschool families in our community. Last year The Scrunch held its first lesson planning workshop for homeschool parents. This year we will hold another lesson planning workshop as well as a Back To School workshop for parents. The Scrunch will also be holding Summer Learning Days for school aged students on Wednesday mornings.
Summer Learning Days will be held at a local park or church on Wednesday mornings 9:00am - 10:30am. For each Summer Learning Day, we will be either holding an all ages book club or learning groups. Small snacks and beverages will be provided each week. Each kiddo will be expected to bring a book or two, a water bottle, and whatever learning materials they want some extra help with to each session.
Registration link will be listed below. Registration fee is $10/school aged kiddo/session. This covers the cost of snacks and supplies.
For book clubs, we will all discuss the books that we have read or are reading. Kiddos can write book reviews, read books aloud to each other, and learn about the different parts of a book.
Learning groups will be an opportunity for kiddos to get additional help with whatever summer learning that they are doing at home. There will be learning games, books to read aloud, and additional support as needed.
